The Harvest is Plentiful
But the Workers Are Few…
What is a Kingdom Mover?
Kingdom Movers are people who have arrived at a point in their faith journey where they say, ‘I am ready to be a part of the Gospel Mission’. This does not always have to mean becoming a preacher, leaving your job, or moving to a different company. If it does, Hallelujah! But for many, we are called to be Kingdom Movers right here in our Community. Playing and leading in worship, serving and creating children’s and youth programs, or taking care of the homeless, the orphans, and the widows. Simply put, Kingdom Movers do not look for a church that will feed them and fill their needs, they look for a church where they can feed others and fill the needs of others.
Valley seeks to be a church that advances the Gospel and the Kingdom from right here where we are at and beyond. We want to trust in the Lord’s power to take our church body farther than it could ever go by itself. What you are about to read is in reality a list of things we want to get better at. But the truth is, like most places, we are strapped for volunteers and we have a lot of growing to do ourselves. We want to grow together with you. We are transparently and vulnerably asking you to pray, and to see if the Lord is maybe calling you to come and be apart of what we are doing here at Valley in some way. Maybe, God is even calling you to help us start something new.
Matthew 9:36-38 says ‘36 When he saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. 37 Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; 38 therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.”
Read a bit below, and if anything sparks your fire, and the Lord and Scripture confirms the call, then please click ‘Tell Me More’. This will set up an email to Valley’s Lead Pastor, who will schedule a meeting to hear what the Lord is saying to your heart. I look forward to working with you.

Worship and Tech
We want to get serious and passionate about our Worship of our Creator. Currently our team is our Worship Leader and a few vocalists, but we have the space and equipment for drums, bass, electric, and other types of instruments. We seek creative and cooperative people who want to use their gifts and talents ‘putting our best foot forward’ for our gathering and our online content.
Children
We have a great space for Children’s Ministry. Our challenge here is this. With our church being the size that it is, it is hard to maintain families because the default goal is to ‘go where they have kids who are my children’s age.’ We so understand this and hold no grudges against families who have left to try elsewhere, but we all have to grow from somewhere. If you have a family, and you are willing to be mission minded, then simply making Valley your home can make a huge difference. But serving certainly doesn’t hurt either.
Youth
Kids grow up. The never ending battle with Father Time that we will never win. As some of our kids who have been with us for years are getting older, we find ourselves in need of a real and dedicated Youth Ministry. As of now, they attend FaithE’s youth ministry on Wednesday evenings and we are so thankful for their partnership with us. Currently, our teens help us out by serving in the Children’s Ministry or the Tech Booth on Sundays. While this is great, we really want to have somebody here who is passionate about them and understanding about the unique stage of life they are in. We need someone to ‘Start and Own’ and Youth Ministry. This ministry is HARD, but we want to help the right person in whatever way possible.
Giving
Valley needs more faithful people to lead the way in giving. Most people don’t see this as a ministry, which is a real shame because Jesus talks about giving and money more than any other topic in the Gospels. Will giving make God see you and bless you with a new Corvette? Probably not. But giving has a unique way of inspiring others to step out of their comfort zones and expand their faith. Remember when you stepped out of your comfort zone? Giving transforms us over time to be more like our Father, who was first and foremost a giver (see John 3:16). It allows us to release our value on the physical world and place our trust in Jesus. And giving allows us to fulfill some of the basic needs for ministry. If your spiritual gift is giving, we could definitely use you here.
Small Groups
We are looking to expand our reach and Gospel presentation primarily through Small Groups. We believe that people are most recipient to the Gospel of Christ when they are in a comfortable setting and are encouraged to interact and ask questions. Sunday Worship is a great and vital part of faith for the believer, but hardly the place just described. It can feel out of place, uncomfortable, and claustrophobic to ask the hard questions on Sunday. In truth, most people would acknowledge they are more willing to go to their friends house for a small group gathering than to join them for service on Sunday Morning. We are looking for willing and capable leaders to train and equip. We will make this a reality.
Billings Community
One of the things we have been passionate about for a long time is how to best interact with our community. We want to love people and support them. We want to visit widows who do not have church homes, and care for orphans whose family has abandoned them. We want to teach about mental health for all ages where it is appropriate, and we want to increase the fun and the quality of life for all of those who live in Billings. And this is probably the single biggest area we need help in. At times, most of our people are a bit introverted. That’s not an excuse but an honest reality. And we are trying to come out of our shell to better reach and serve others. If you are a well connected extrovert, God may be calling you to take us to the next level in serving our community.
I Don’t Know Yet…
‘But I know I want to be a part of this.’ Hey, we are so happy you know yourself well enough to say that. Many of our people don’t know what they want to do yet for the Kingdom, but they know they want to do something. We hope that you might come to Valley to simply be a part of it. Grow, learn, give, see if you believe the same things about Christ that we do, and develop relationships and community. Being a Kingdom Mover can start as simply and humbly as greeting people at the door, setting up coffee on Sunday mornings, and bringing your friend to service. Yes even you too, we want to get to know you.
As we see where God takes this dream of transforming us into Kingdom Movers, we will update this list. For now, we want to hear from you. Let us know where the Lord has made you passionate, and how we can help make your ministry matter most!
